Read-a-Thon and GIVEAWAY

My reading pals! How goes it? We are on the seven day count for Dewey's Read-A-Thon.

I thought I would share where my stationary butt will be during those book-devouring hours.

Let me introduce you to my reading room.  I will clearly do a devoted post on my library and organization, I've just not been terribly organized to write it.  But, since I'll be stowing away from D for that weekend, I'm sure Corki and I will spend most of our day right here in this cozy chair. You'll notice a pet bed in the window sill (where Corki will reside) overlooking the garden area, which is D's pride & joy.

And when my butt is numb and I feel the urge for movement, I'll hop on over to my bike.  I hope that I get a good amount of working out done during this read-a-thon.  And also, am I the only one out there that loves orange?  D almost died when I chose this color for my reading room.  Hee hee.

The heat in Florida is almost unbearable during the day, but I'd like to spend sometime out on our porch to get fresh air.  I imagine my evening will be spent rocking outdoors.

Finally, my reading buddy, Corki.  He's a pretty lazy cat.

NOW onto the give away.  I have an ARC, although it's not really an ARC anymore since it's coming out this month of Where She Went.  It's the sequel to If I Stay and from my understanding the first book was a HUGE success.  I'm parting with Where She Went because I just don't see myself reading the first book anytime soon.  I received it at the NCTE conference earlier this year and feel bad that it's just sitting on my shelf, unread.

The rules are simple.  The giveaway is open Internationally.  Just leave a comment and tell me if you are participating in the read-a-thon or not.  If you are: what are you most looking forward to.

I would LOVE for this to be promoted, but mainly because I want to see as many people as possible reading books this coming weekend.  It gives me warm fuzzies to know that all of us bookworms unite for the 24-hour period. (However, spreading the word will not add more opportunities for the book. I'm not too fond of the extra entries = extra hoops to jump through).

I will draw the name Friday using the random number thingamajigger and announce it Saturday morning at the start of RaT.  Cheers!

  1. No need to enter me, I just wanted to say how comfortable your reading chair looks compared to the one I'm sitting in right now. Sigh.

  2. I really really really want a porch and a rocking chair now! Also a cat :). I am going to sort of participate in the readathon a bit maybe. But, as I think I may have told you, it's on my birthday, so some familial time may be necessary too *sigh* hehehe.

  3. I am going to be participating in the readathon. Hopefully the 14 INCHES!!! of snow we got yesterday will have mostly melted and I can read outside.

Otherwise I'll be on the couch with my pup.

  4. Since I'll be at a hotel, this will be the first time I don't have a workout during my Readathon. Maybe there will be a gym and I can jump on the elliptical while listening to an audiobook...

(no need to enter me, I never got through the first book)

  6. Your chair looks a lot like mine! And it's situated similarly in front of a window that has a dog perch. lol

  7. This is my first read-a-thon and I am getting quite excited now. I unfortunately dont have as nice a place to read as you. But since it is still really hot here, I will probably be outside for a while at least.

  8. I so much want to read this book! I just read If I Stay and none of the 18 libraries in our consortium have ordered the sequel yet.

I'm not participating in the readathon this time around - the timing wasn't good.
