The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Lani Taylor and narrated by Khristine Hvam.
Impressions:
Ohemgee - I cannot get enough of this book. Seriously. Yesterday I did NOT want to work out and the only thing that got me into my car was the knowledge that I had this playing for the ride. Of course I was glad I went AFTER the work out was over, but that shows some power, man. This book is delish.
Current/most recent favorite audiobook:
I'm new to the audiobook world so I don't have much of a repertoire, but I'm hooked on Khristine Hvam as a narrator. I only wish my library had more books that she narrated. I'll probably end up (finally) subscribing to audible for her alone. I also enjoyed the audio of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairlyand...(did the author PURPOSEFULLY choose such a mouthful to frustrate??). Another, perhaps forgotten audio book, that I enjoyed this year was Willow.
Favorite narrator you've discovered recently:
Duh. KHRISTINE HVAM.
One title from your TBL stack or audio wishlist:
Chime by Franny Billingsley and narrated by Susan Duerdan has received bunches of accolades this week.
Your audio dream team (what book or author would you LOVE to see paired with a certain narrator, can already exist or not):
I'll back Jen up with this one. I thought the pairing of Wil Wheaton and Ready Player One was perfect!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is getting almost as much love this week as Ready Player One!
ReplyDeleteI need to get that one! I have heard great things!
ReplyDeleteReady Player One is everywhere this week!!
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing awesome stuff about Smoke and Bone. I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteWe're on opposite paths; I listened to Daughter a couple of months ago and I'm currently listening to Girl / Fairyland (I agree about that title!). Khristine Hvam is fabulous. I'll be looking for more of her titles as well. I read Ready Player One in print, but I may have to give it a listen after hearing so many awesome things about it!
ReplyDeleteDaughter of Smoke and Bone .. I still love that story. I might go and listen to it again! I got Ready Player One, so now I just have to get the The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairlyand and I will be set!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone as well as Ready Player One should get an award for most mentioned audiobook during Audio Book Week. LOL!
ReplyDeleteDaughter of Smoke and Bone is excellent. Listened to it for Armchair Audioes and really liked it.
ReplyDeleteKhristine Hvam is awesome. I actually have an interview with her coming up tomorrow, and it's probably my favorite of the week.
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland is perhaps my favorite author narrated audiobooks ever.
I am going to download Daughter of Smoke and Bone from audible and reread by listening. Loved the book.
