Beautiful Darkness

Title: Beautiful Darkness
Author: Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Pub: Little, Brown and Company; 2010
Pages: 503
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy
Etc: the second book to Beautiful Creatures (review linked)

I read Beautiful Creatures at the beginning of the year and loved it. It was such a fun book and I really dug how the fantastical people were not vampires or werewolves.

I don't really want to give away too much with Beautiful Darkness in case you haven't read Beautiful Creature, but it's safe to say that they did it again. Garcia & Stohl have come up with a pretty unique execution to a plot line that has been done over and over again (What? You're not human? But I love you!...) Plus I still think it's uber cool that the narrative is a male voice.

It's safe to say I'm pretty hooked on this series. I devoured this one right when it came out and can't wait for it to continue.

  1. I'm glad to hear there are no vampires or werewolves or zombies :P Nothing against them, but it's good to find recent fantasy books that do something different.

  3. I read Beautiful Creatures earlier this year too. I wasn't too big on the Lena- Ethan relationship, reminded me a bit of Bella & Edward but I did love the paranormal element of the book. I do want to read Beautiful Darkness though. Anyway, have a good reading week ahead!
