Anna Karenina RAL

I am seriously sweating about this commitment.  I've had AK on my bookshelf for over ten years. Russian literature scares me like there's no tomorrow.  WORSE even.  It scares me in the mental paralysis sorta way.  Because honestly, part of me just doesn't feel smart enough to read this tome of a novel.

I figure the only time I'm ever going to actually do it is if I do it with others.  I need to commiserate in my misery and fear.  If you haven't signed up, join us!

  3. I have had Anna Karenina on my TBR for years too. Let's just hope that we laugh at our hesitation later and wish that we read it sooner. I am glad to have you join us.

  4. I was petrified of AK when I signed up for a readalong of the novel last year but it ended up becoming a favorite novel. You're reading it must faster than me -- I read it from October to December -- but I hope you have similar success.

  7. Actually I felt the same, Anna Karenina is one of books that scares me. If only I am not engaged with other event, I'd like to participate in this read along. But it would be interesting to read your thoughts on this.

Small tips, write down all characters name as well as their nickname, and slip the note in your book, because, trust me, you're going to need it often! This is one of the difficulties in reading Russian literature: to memorize all the names.

Oh, and thanks for joining my Gone With The Wind read along, I hope you'll enjoy it..
